Rachel Stern has served as the Assistant Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) since April 2018. She supports the mission of the CEL to offer competency-based academic and experiential education initiatives by assisting in the planning, creation, and implementation of new entrepreneurship education programs, as well as continuously improving existing programs. Her role oversees operations for the Blackstone LaunchPad, which offers one-on-one coaching for students and recent alumni looking to turn their research and ideas into companies. Rachel meets frequently with UCF and community stakeholders to build relationships that serve the needs of UCF’s student entrepreneurs. She believes in the power of collaboration over competition to help students start companies with the end goal of creating jobs to further economic development here in Central Florida.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Rachel received her B.A. in International Studies with a focus in the Middle East and Africa, and spent a semester abroad in Ghana, West Africa. She also holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), all from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. She is a former AmeriCorps volunteer and a three-time recipient of the Western New York Prosperity Fellowship, generously funded by the Prentice Family Foundation. While in graduate school, Rachel served as the Student Engagement Coordinator for the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Venture Coach for Blackstone LaunchPad at the University at Buffalo. Rachel enjoys exploring Orlando, trying out new restaurants, and cheering on her beloved Buffalo Bills.
